Frequently Asked Questions

Where is my data stored?

All your timer presets, focus sessions, and settings are stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework. Nothing is sent to any server. Your data never leaves your device.

What happens if I delete the app?

Deleting Nudge removes all locally stored data permanently. Since Nudge is fully offline with no cloud backup, make sure to export any data you want to keep before uninstalling.

How do I restore my Pro purchase?

Go to Settings in Nudge and tap "Restore Purchases". This checks your Apple ID for previous purchases and unlocks Pro automatically. Works across any device signed into the same Apple ID.

Does the timer keep running when I lock my phone?

Yes. Nudge uses real timestamps (Date.timeIntervalSince) instead of tick counting, so the timer stays accurate even when the app is in the background or your phone is locked. You'll get a notification when the timer completes.

How do vibration alerts work in silent mode?

Nudge uses a custom triple-pulse haptic pattern that works regardless of your phone's ringer setting. You'll feel three distinct taps on your wrist (Apple Watch) or in your pocket — perfect for libraries, offices, and shared spaces.

What is time-awareness mode?

A Pro feature designed for people with ADHD or time-blindness. Instead of a rigid countdown, it sends gentle periodic nudges (e.g., every 15 or 30 minutes) so you stay aware of passing time without feeling pressured by a ticking clock.

What's the difference between countdown and count-up mode?

Countdown mode (free) sets a specific duration and counts down to zero — classic Pomodoro style. Count-up mode (Pro) starts at zero and tracks how long you focus, with optional periodic nudges. Great for open-ended deep work.

Is the Pro purchase a subscription?

No. Nudge Pro is a one-time purchase of $6.99. You pay once and own it forever. No recurring charges, no annual renewal, no surprise price increases.

What's included in the free version?

Pomodoro and countdown timers, 3 custom presets, full session history, background timing, silent vibration alerts, and a home screen widget. Most people start free and upgrade later.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. Nudge is currently iPhone-only (iOS 17+). An Android version may come in the future based on demand.
